Hailuo AI is MiniMax's AI video website and app: you type a description or upload a photo, and it turns that into a video clip with sound. New users get trial credits. Watermark-free videos and commercial rights require a paid plan.
What is Hailuo AI: MiniMax's tool for video, images and audio
On Oct 12, 2026, the Hailuo AI homepage showed three large buttons: Create Video, Create Image, and Hailuo Agent. The sidebar also has Audio and Tools. A banner at the top announced that MiniMax H3 is live.
Hailuo AI belongs to MiniMax, a company listed in Hong Kong under stock code 00100. Its first half 2026 results show revenue from AI-native products, including Hailuo AI, up 100.9% to $42.6 million. Under the Terms of Service, last modified Aug 19, 2026, your contract is with Nanonoble Pte. Ltd., a Singapore company.
MiniMax H3 is Hailuo AI's newest model, with clips up to 15 seconds and sound
MiniMax launched H3 on Jul 31, 2026. The MiniMax H3 announcement calls it a multimodal model: it reads text, images, video, and audio together and generates video with stereo sound. The two earlier generations were Hailuo 01 and Hailuo 02.
On Aug 3, 2026, MiniMax open-sourced H3 and published this spec sheet:
- Length: 4 to 15 seconds per clip.
- Aspect ratios: 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, and 9:16.
- Resolution: the short side defaults to 768 pixels. For 2K, the clip goes through H3-Regenerate-2K, which rebuilds it at high resolution.
- Frames and sound: 24 frames per second, 32 kHz stereo audio.
Check the language list before you plan voiced content. Dialogue is stable in 11 languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, and Spanish. Other languages are supported "to varying degrees," and Vietnamese is not on the stable list.
Text-to-video and image-to-video on Hailuo AI follow the same four steps
The MiniMax H3 page on Hailuo AI says H3, Hailuo 3, and Hailuo H3 are the same model. H3 has three modes: Text-to-Video, first frame or first-and-last frame, and Omni Reference (several reference files at once).
The page breaks video creation into four steps:
- Choose MiniMax H3 in the model picker, then pick text, frame, or Omni Reference mode.
- Write your prompt and add references in the Refs slot: up to 9 images, 3 video clips, and 3 audio clips, with no more than 12 files in total. Audio must come with an image or video.
- Set length, aspect ratio, and resolution: up to 15 seconds, 768p or 2K.
- Click Create, review the result, then type instructions to change people, objects, scenes, lighting, or dialogue.
For image-to-video, use first-frame mode: upload a product shot or a portrait, then describe the motion you want. The plan comparison on the Subscribe page still lists the older Hailuo 2.3 and 2.0 models, which make 6 or 10 second clips.
What do you get with Hailuo AI for free?
On Oct 27, 2026, the Subscribe page listed the Free plan with 0 monthly credits. You get one-time trial credits only, and the plan covers Hailuo models only.
The Terms of Paid Service say users who registered on or after Jun 18, 2025 get a one-time welcome credit package. Those credits expire three days after you receive them, so have your prompts ready before you sign up.
The FAQ on the MiniMax H3 page also says new users who download the MiniMax Design app get 3 free H3 trials and 3,000 credits. Offers change, so check the banner at the top of the site for the current one.
Per the paid terms, free downloads carry a watermark. The same terms say credits are refunded automatically when a generation fails or does not pass review.
Hailuo AI paid plans start at $10.50 a month
On Oct 27, 2026, the Subscribe page showed four monthly plans, with the first three discounted from their list prices:
- Standard: $10.50 a month (list $14.99), 1,000 credits.
- Pro: $38 (list $54.99), 4,500 credits.
- Master: $89 (list $119.99), 10,500 credits.
- Max: $216, 27,000 credits, plus unlimited Hailuo 2.0 and 2.3.
Yearly billing costs less: Standard drops to $8.40 a month ($100.80 a year), and Master to $71.20 ($854.40 a year). On Standard, 1,000 credits cover about 84 seconds of H3 video at 2K, or 143 seconds at 768p. The plan cards say every paid plan also gets access to the Veo 3.1 and Sora 2 models, while the Free plan does not.
One thing to watch: the paid terms, last updated Jul 14, 2025, and the FAQ at the bottom of the Subscribe page still list older plan figures, such as 10,000 credits for Master and $199.99 with 20,000 credits for Max. Those numbers do not match the plan cards above. Before you pay, check the price and credits shown at checkout.
The paid terms say plan credits last one month and do not roll over. You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect from the next billing cycle, and payments already made are not refunded. Prices are in USD, and sales tax or VAT may be added based on your billing location.
Using Hailuo AI videos commercially takes a paid plan and AI labeling
The paid terms say MiniMax does not claim ownership of content you generate and download while on a paid plan. You keep the intellectual property rights, including the right to use it commercially. In return, the company gets a license to use that content to run and promote its services.
The Terms of Service, updated Aug 19, 2026, add three duties. First, disclose that a video is AI-generated when the law requires it or when viewers could mistake it for real. Second, do not remove or hide the watermarks, metadata, or AI labels the company applies. Third, secure the rights to any likeness, voice, or trademark in your video yourself.
Which plan to choose and where to start
Choose the free plan if you only want to try H3 with the three-day welcome credits. Choose Standard if you need watermark-free video and commercial rights for about 84 to 143 seconds of H3 video a month. Choose Pro or higher if you make 2K ads on a regular schedule.
